Important information about Visa and Travel

Visas on arrival are only available on arrivals by flight; arrivals by land must have a visa prior to entry. Entry into Ethiopia is allowed only from Addis Ababa International Airport, unless the Government has granted permission for another point of entry. Visitors eligible to obtain a visa on arrival require two passport photos; fees vary according to type of visa and length of stay.

Passports must be valid for at least 6 months.

Visa General:

The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of Ethiopia
2) Nationals of St. Vincent & the Grenadines
3) For stays of up to 3 months for nationals of Djibouti
4) For stays of up to 1 year for nationals of Kenya
5) Holders of an Identification Card for Foreign Nationals of Ethiopian origin.

Visa Notes:

Nationals and/or resident permit holders of the following countries may be issued with a tourist visa on arrival: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland Rep, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom & United States.
