Investment decision on Africa’s Kudu power project mid-2016

 A final investment decision is expected mid-2016 on Namibia’s Kudu gas-to-power project, which is expected to boost electricity security in the southwest African country

 Rwanda, along with Climate Investment Funds (CIF), will work to provide access to electricity to around 70 per cent of its population by 2018

Africa's Largest Carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, Plans To Order Narrow-Body Planes

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest carrier, wants to buy 10 narrowbody planes and is considering Canada's Bombardier and Brazil's Embraer jets among others, as it plans to nearly double its fleet between now and 2025, chief executive Tewolde Gebremariam said Monday.


Tewolde, speaking on the sidelines of a global aviation forum in Montreal, said that he is visiting Bombardier's Mirabel factory on Tuesday to review the 100-seater CS100.

Uganda Gov’t licenses maize warehouses to improve quality

GOVERNMENT HAS EMBARKED ON THE PROCESS OF LICENSING WAREHOUSES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF GRAINS ESPECIALLY MAIZE IN UGANDA.
This is according to Silver Ojakol, the commissioner for external trade, ministry of trade. He made the remarks at the launch of a report on maize standards in Kampala.

Crown Paints to construct a manufacturing plant in Kenya

 Crowns Paints Kenya Ltd is planning to construct a factory in the Western Kenya that will help reduce cost of transporting paint from its Nairobi plant.

 Seychelles has secured US$31mn in funding from Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Saudi Fund for Development to improve electricity network in the island nation
