USD 150 million luxury hotel construction in Addis Ababa

Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), a multi-sector conglomerate started the construction of a 5-star hotel for USD 150 million in Addis Ababa, said by Ethiopian Airlines officials on Tuesday.

This 5-star hotel in Addis Ababa is constructed for the Ethiopian Airlines.

Asrat Begashaw, Head of Public Relations in Ethiopia Airlines said that the hotel is being constructed on 22,000 Sqm land with a budget of USD 150 million. The project will be a 5-star hotel with 637 guest rooms along with restaurants, bars, conference hall, swimming pool, and basement parking of 550 cars and fitness centre.

He also emphasized that Ethiopian Airlines has firm and productive relationships with the Chinese companies. Much of the expertise and finance have been done by the Chinese firm in the project.

The hotel is also consisting of the largest Chinese restaurant in Africa and conference halls which can accommodate more than 2500 people. Along with spacious executive suites, and 373 guest rooms, this hotel will let Ethiopian Airlines offer exclusive packages of tours and travel to its customers.

Ethiopia Airlines had also inaugurated another hotel in January of 2019 made by AVIC with a total expanse of USD 65 million.

Ethiopian Airlines has the largest customer base in China and with a good partnership with a Chinese firm; the airlines have decided to work with the Chinese firm in their upcoming projects to strengthening their relationship more.

The company also planning to fly its airlines to the high-tech cities of China such as Shenzhen soon.
