Strandline Resources look to complete mine in 12 months time

Strandline Resources have conducted a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the Fungoni heavy mineral sands project in Tanzania and have concluded with results of a strong financial performance.
 
The study has shown that the company will need to invest $30m in developing projects, while investments are also lacking in working capital, mine infrastructure, land access, port facilities and also in pre-production mining.

Rwanda - Brewery Factory Being Set-Up in Kamonyi District

 Paul Mubiligi, the Board Chairman of Southern Province Investment Corporation (SPIC) has announced that a factory is in the process of being set-up in the Kamonyi District. The purpose of the factory will be to brew sorghum beer, a nonalcoholic drink, known locally as ‘Ikigage’. A non-alcoholic drink called ‘Ubushera’ will also be a part of the factory’s agenda.

Bugamdo Medical Receive Viamo Ultrasound from Toshiba Medical

 Toshiba Medical has donated a Viamo Portable Ultrasound System to the Bugando Medical Centre to help with surgeries at the clinic.

 
The Bugando Medical Centre treats an estimated 13 million people. Surgeries are conducted on children with anorectic malformations and Viamo will be used to image their spinal cords and urinary tracts. The hospital’s staff also attended training sessions to perform exams on patients with facing similar problems.Read more »

Yapi Merkezi Nab High Speed Rail Project in Tanzania

Turkish Firm Yapi Merkezi Insaat VE Sanayi is the project contractor for a high-speed electric railway line and will undertake all designing and construction activities.

The Turkish company is a renowned, privately owned firm of great repute in rail engineering, manufacture, design, and construction.

New Assembly Building Planned for Kajiado County

 Kajiado County is in the process of building a three-storey state of the art assembly, fully equipped with modern facilities like underground parking with room to accommodate as many as 700 cars. The facility is expected to cost Sh 543 million.

 There has been an increased demand for solar water heating systems after the announcement of the November 30th deadline for the installations of these systems, according to sources from within the industry.

Kenya Taking Steps to Increase Medical Imports

 The government has plans to open up 10 more entry ports for the imported medicine and medical products.

 
The new ports will include Moyale, Kisumu International Airport, and Mandera according to a source from Pharmacy and Poison Board.
 
The other new points will include Taveta, Nadapal, Lokichogio, Liboi, Wilson Airport, the Moi International Airport, Mombasa, and the General Post Office, Mombasa.

Rwanda to Have Complete Access to Power Within 7 Years

 Rwanda Energy Group has intertwined its energy rollout plan to fit that of the Rwandan government. Nationwide energy supply is to be its primary objective over the next seven years.
