Tanzania: Extension of Support for Childhood Centres

 Support for activities of Early Childhood Health Centers established several years ago in Tanga City under cooperation betweentheTanga City Council and a South Korean NGO, United Help for International Children (UHIC) has been extended.

Tanzania: Private Lab Gets Global Recognition

 Lancet Laboratories has become Tanzania's first private medical lab to be accredited internationally.

 
It has been accredited by the International Organisation for Standardisation.
 
The award was issued by the Southern African Development Community Accreditation Services (SADCAS), according to a statement issued on Wednesday by Lancet Laboratories Tanzania Limited.

Tanzania: Dar Among Top Global Fund Beneficiaries

 TANZANIA is among five leading beneficiaries of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, having pocketed 1.9 billion US dollars (about 4tri/-) between 2003 and March, 2017.

TANZANIA IS WORKING TO ERADICATE HEARING LOSS AMONG CHILDREN WITH THIS MEDICAL DEVICE.

 Tanzanian children with hearing impairments no longer have to leave the shores of their country to obtain life-changing surgery. The renowned Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has launched electronic cochlear implants which replace the damaged inner ear functions by actually transmitting signals to the brain.

Medical supplies to be delivered by drone in Tanzania with British government backing

 A trial of drone-delivered medical supplies in Tanzania is to be funded in part by the UK government, according to reports.

 
Also involving Silicon Valley start-up Zipline, the scheme is aiming to reduce the amount of time it takes to get blood and other medical supplies around the country.

  The government will start constructing 100 health centres in various parts of the country next month, Parliament was told yesterday.
