Construction of the Murang'a substation in Kenya nears completion. Kenya Power Company (KPC) Manager, Eng. Harrison Kamau, confirmed the report and said that the project will be completed and equiped for commissioning by end of December.

China Aerospace Construction Group has disclosed construction of a 40-km 400kV Konza-Isinya transmission line, which will power Konza City as well as Kajiado, Makueni, and Machakos counties.
The project, which is being contracted in partnership with Kenya’s ministry of energy, is focused to ensure constant supply of power for the proposed smart city located in Machakos.

Ethiopia has announced plans to upgrade certain equipment at the Gilgel Gibe II hydroelectric power plant after a successful conference held in Berlin, the German capital. Kenya has been presented with two designs for the Lokichar-Lamu crude oil pipeline (LLCOP) with a price fluctuation of $122.2 million.
British firm Wood Group Plc has concluded with the front end engineering design (FEED) that shows Kenya can chose for a pipeline with onshore storage facilities that would cost $1.2 billion to construct or one with floating storage facilities at a cost of $1.1 billion.

The saddle dam of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)s construction has fully completed, declared by Engineer Girma Mengistu, the head of civil construction in the project.
Mengistu said that they have finished constructing the upstream face of the saddle dam, which marks the completion of entire saddle dam. The construction took 14 million cubic meters of the concrete embankment.
