Group Five, a South African firm, has worn a project for designing and construction of a 350Mw gas and oil-fired power plant in Ghana. According to a Group Five spokesman, the Kpone Independent Power Project contract will run for three years in order to see through the construction of the plant located in the Kpone municipality.

Louis Berger, an engineering services company based in US has secured a five-year contract for construction works to improve a section of the Yaoundé-Douala highway in Cameroon. The contract is a five-year engagement that will see the country’s Yaoundé diplomatic region connected to the country’s Douala deepwater port.

Investment worth US$5bn was approved for three provinces in Mozambique. It was noted that the approved investments will help the North of Mozambique undertake several projects in agriculture, forestry, infrastructure, tourism, and hydrocarbon sector. The projects are aimed at creating opportunities for small, micro and medium-sized national companies. The projects are also expected to create 20,000 job opportunities in the three regions.
