  • Off Grid Electric Raises $45 Million in Debt Financing

    Off Grid Electric, a micro-solar leasing platform for Africans, has raised $45 million in debt financing for solar power and battery storage. The Packard Foundation, Ceniarth, Calvert Foundation and other family offices will lend up to $40 million to the fund. The US Agency for International Development's Development Innovation Ventures program has also provided a $5 million grant.

  • Africa�s DoE embarks on solar geyser procurement

     The South African Department of Energy (DoE) has issued the request for bids of solar water heater systems as part of a national solar geyser roll-out.

  • Japan to fund construction of solar power plant in Africa

     Japan will fund  the construction of a solar power plant in Egypt in a move aimed at enhancing energy the  sector in the country Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry  has announced.The solar power plant will be constructed at a cost of $US 100 million.
