The expected rapid transit train service between Nairobi CBD and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is among projects proposed to feature conspicuously when President Kenyatta hosts French President Emmanuel Macron in Nairobi mid next month.

French Ambassador Aline Kuster- Manager confirmed that the French President will visit the country when she paid a courtesy call on President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.

President Macron said he looks forward to hosting the French President, saying he anticipates the visit to break new ground in the mutual relations between Kenya and France.

“Traditionally, Kenya and France enjoy powerful bilateral ties and I am pleased that we’ve continued to expand the relations. I look forward to the visit by President Macron,” President Kenyatta said.

At President Macron’s visit, Kenya and France are expected to sign several agreements and MoUs including various subjects of mutual interest between the two countries.

The accelerated transit train service is part of Kenya Railways’ mass rapid transport system that desires to tackle the congestion between the CBD and the airport.
