  • Zambia: K200 Million for Renewable Energy

    Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Henrik Cederin has revealed that his country will invest up to K200 million towards implementation of renewable energy in Zambia.

     
    Mr Cederin said Sweden would invest in renewable sources of energy in a bid to mitigate the ongoing energy crisis not only in Zambia but the COMESA region as a whole.

  • Deepak Khilnani Announces Sub-Saharan Africa\'s Largest Gas Engine Power Project

    London — Cummins Cogeneration Limited (CCL), headed up by Deepak Khilnani, and WUTA Energy are set to commence the development of a 140MW gas-fired power plant. Based in Beyin, the plant is the first phase of a 300MW Power Purchase Agreement to supply energy to the Ghanaian Grid, and once complete, it will be the largest gas engine power project in sub-Saharan Africa.

     
  • Intratrek Wins Another Power Tender

    Golden Sibanda — Munyati Power Station will have its electricity generation capacity restored to 100 megawatts after Indian firm, Jaguar Overseas Limited (JOL) and its local partner were awarded the engineering procurement tender to refurbish the plant. Jaguar Overseas, backed by its local partner Intratrek Zimbabwe Limited, was awarded the rehabilitation tender at an EPC price of $113 mi. . .

  • Construction of nuclear power Plants in Africa to proceed

     The government will continue with the construction of nuclear power plants in South Africa,  Head of Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa), Phumzile Tshelane, has said.

     
    Tshelane indicated that they had the two options of coal and nuclear to increase their power supplies as other methods were not ad good given the climatic changes.
