  • KenGen in 400MW wind power farm plan for Meru

     KenGen is set to develop a 400 megawatt (MW) multibillion-shilling wind power farm in Meru, adding to its growing portfolio of renewable energy sources.

     
    The first phase of the wind power project, which is expected to complete by December 2017, will generate 100MW at a cost of Sh26.4 billion ($270 million).

  • Kenya Power in Sh3.2 Billion Substations Upgrade

    Nairobi -Kenya Power has signed contracts worth Sh3.2 billion with local firms to implement 12 substation upgrade projects in the country.

     
    The deal will also involve the construction of additional 33 kV power distribution lines to meet growing demand for increasing number of customers.
