Parliament to Discuss New Mining Law Next Month

A new mining law to be debated by parliament starting next month promises to improve the environment for investment and generally enhance Uganda’s mining sector.

The government yesterday signed more contracts with mining companies to boost production and exports.

Rwanda on Wednesday auctioned its largest mining site sitting on 22,000 hectares at Gatumba sector in Ngororero district of Western Province.

Rwanda's Ministry of Natural Resources has granted mining licences to 20 companies and co-operatives that are among the list of 29 approved by the Cabinet.
