  • Construction of buildings to be completed within five years

     Property developers and individuals building homes will have to complete construction within five years or face penalties under a new law proposed by the government.

  • Rwanda to Export Cement As New Plant Boost Production

    Rwanda's only cement manufacturer CIMERWA Ltd, yesterday, unveiled a new plant expected to increase production and boost export revenues.

  • East Africa\'s geothermal power generation to grow by 1000mw

     Ethiopia geothermal power generation is set to grow after the country signed a power purchase agreement with Berkley Energy which is a Kenyan linked company that will see 1,000MW of energy being generated.

     
    The signing was done by Azeb Asnake, CEO of Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) and Edward Njoroge, one of the investors from Berkeley Energy.

  • Constructed Ngong wind power plant in Kenya

     The constructed Ngong wind power plant is to be commissioned in Kenya by Kengen in a bid to boost the renewable sources contributions to the national grid. It is hoped that the move will help in meeting the vision of generating 5,000MW of power by 2018. The construction of the wind power farm was expanded as a way of scaling up energy sources as the country looks to green energy.
