  • Kaduna DISCO to commission 3 injection substations

     Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) is to commission three new injection sub-stations at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Mothercat and Hanwa in Zaria, Kaduna State, to improve power supply in the state, KEDC Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, has disclosed.

  • Ethiopia: Geothermal Plant to Be Operational in April - Ministry

     Ethiopia is striving for the operation of the Aluto-Langano geothermal power plant with installed capacity of 70mw power in this fiscal year, the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy said.

  • US$ 533m Kariba power project in Zimbabwe kicks off

     The Kariba power project in Zimbabwe kicked off officially with President Mugabe commissioning on 4th of September; the project is estimated to cost US$533 million and is expected to generate an additional 300MW by 2017.

  • US$ 374m Kpone Independent Power Project in Ghana to be undertaken by Group Five

     Group Five, a South African firm, has worn a project for designing and construction of a 350Mw gas and oil-fired power plant in Ghana. According to a Group Five spokesman, the Kpone Independent Power Project contract will run for three years in order to see through the construction of the plant located in the Kpone municipality.
