  • South African construction firms to pay US$90M into development fund

    A total of Six South African construction firms will contribute a total of 1.25 bn rand ($90 million) in the next 12 years towards a fund kitty towards skill development in the construction sector and give black workers a much bigger role, a cabinet minister said recently.

  • Completion of Kenya Outering road now set for September 2017

     The completion of the busy Nairobi’s outering road  is now set for September 2017, Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) has said.

     
    According to KeNHA officials the project haven’t been implemented about 64 kilometers hence bringing late by two and a half months.

  • HFDI to put up Sh5bn estate in Thika Road�s Clay City

     The apartments will be built at the former Clay Works off Thika Road in a joint venture with Clay Works Limited which owns the land.

     
    The project will sit on 24.5 acres and will be built in three phases. Phase one will be set on 8.6 acres, Phase two on 10.5 acres and Phase three on 5.4 acres.

     President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to launch construction of the second phase of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in a fortnight even as Kenyans demand for a bigger stake in the project.
